Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs) provide a tax free wrapper for your savings. ISA bonds are simply corporate or government bonds acquired through a stocks and shares ISA.

A stocks and shares ISA will usually offer you a range of investment options to choose from, often including a bonds investment option. You can invest up to £10,680 through a stocks and shares ISA, without having to pay income tax or capital gains tax on any income or capital growth generated.

To invest in a stocks and shares ISA or ISA bonds you must be a UK resident and at least 18 years old. Stocks and shares ISAs are considered a higher risk investments than cash ISAs, the amount of risk involved in your ISA bond investment will depend on the type of bond you invest in. It is important to remember that returns can go down as well as up and your initial capital investment may not be secure.
